At Ditcheat we feel it is very important to teach our children to appreciate what they have. Each year we consider how we can give a little back to the local community and further afield.
After our carol concert Willow Class sold mince pies and cakes to raise money for the homeless charity, Crisis. The children were very keen to support a charity that worked with those less fortunate than themselves at Christmas.
This year’s Poppy appeal raised £33.55
Recently, our families donated food to a Yeovil food bank called the Lord’s Larder.
Many of our families also filled shoeboxes for the Trussell Trust, providing Christmas gifts for Bulgarian and Serbian orphanages and poor rural schools.
The children also helped raise £64 for Water Aid at this year’s Harvest Festival.
